· Since the trip is still years away, the PRICE currently set is an ESTIMATE based on what Museum Tours thinks the price will be according to our experience. However, if, as the trip draws near, we discover that we estimated incorrectly, this price is subject to change.
· The price includes admissions to 2 meals per day, sights listed, private vans or buses and guides throughout the tour, and air travel between Cairo and Luxor.
· The itinerary is subject to change without notice should circumstances dictate.
· There is an extra cost for items listed as "Option".
· This Luxor Eclipse tour is not available as a private tour.
· The single supplement for this tour is $1,150.

Luxor Eclipse Itineraries

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to see the amazing upcoming total solar eclipse in Luxor, Egypt. That's why we are offering two tour itineraries for you to choose from and one eclipse only package.
Pre-Eclipse Tour has the eclipse on Day 6,  Post-Eclipse Tour has the eclipse on Day 3. Eclipse Only has the eclipse on Day 2. See below for the itineraries.

Luxor Eclipse Pre-Eclipse Tour.
July 28 - Aug 4

  • Day 1, Wednesday, July 28 - Cairo
    You will be met upon your arrival in Cairo and transferred to your hotel, the Steigenberger Pyramids Hotel.
  • Day 2, Thursday, July 29 - Cairo
    This morning you will visit the Giza Plateau and the Great Pyramid of Khufu along with the Sphinx and Valley Temple of Khafra and the Panoramic Overview.       
      Option:
    Inside the Pyramid of Khufu      
      Option: Camel ride
    After lunch you will be taken to the Necropolis at Saqqara to explore the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the Pyramid and causeway of King Unis, and the Tomb of Kagemni.  
  • Day 3, Friday, July 30 - Cairo/Luxor
    After checking out of the hotel, the morning will be spent at the Grand Egyptian Museum with the Treasures of Tutankhamun.      
      Option: The Royal Mummy Room (at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization)
    After lunch you will visit the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali and the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square. You will fly to Luxor in the evening and check into our 5-star hotel.
  • Day 4, Saturday, July 31 - Luxor
    You will spend your morning visiting Karnak, the world's largest temple complex, built over a period of 1,500 years. This will be followed by a visit to Luxor Temple and the small but beautiful Luxor Museum.
  • Day 5, Sunday, August 1 - Luxor
    Today you will cross the Nile to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings with the the Tombs of Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Rameses V and VI. Afterward you will drive to visit Deir el Bahri and the temple of the female pharaoh, Hatshepsut. The day will end with a visit to Medinet Habu (temple of Rameses III and the best preserved of the New Kingdom temples) and a brief stop at the Colossi of Memnon (statues of Amenhotep III).
  • Day 6, Monday, August 2 - Luxor
    Today is the eclipse! Travel by air-conditioned van or bus to our pre-arranged location for your optimal viewing and set up any equipment you brought with you to view the eclipse. Museum Tours will provide chairs and cold bottled water throughout the day as well as continual shuttle service to the hotel. We will also have our guides and tour managers on site today to help keep our eyes on your belongings.
  • Day 7, Tuesday, August 3 - Luxor/Cairo Fly to Cairo and check into your hotel, located across the street from the Egyptian Museum. The rest of the day is free. Revisit some of your favorite sites, relax, or shop. This evening you will visit the world-famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar where you will have your farewell dinner.
  • Day 8, Wednesday, August 4 - Cairo/Home
    Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

July 31 - Aug 7

  • Day 1, Saturday, July 31 - Cairo
    You will be met upon your arrival in Cairo and transferred to your hotel, the Steigenberger Pyramids Hotel.
  • Day 2, Sunday, August 1 - Cairo/Luxor After checking out of the hotel this morning, you will visit the Giza Plateau and the Great Pyramid of Khufu along with the Sphinx and Valley Temple of Khafra and the Panoramic Overview

    Today is free to spend more time in the museums or get a suggestion from your guide. Revisit some of your favorite sites, relax, or shop. This evening you will visit the world-famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar where you will have your farewell dinner.
  • Day 8, Saturday, August 7 - Cairo/Home Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

  • Day 1, Saturday, July 31- Cairo/Luxor
    You will be met upon your arrival in Cairo and transferred to your flight to Luxor, then met in Luxor and transferred to your hotel for the night.
  • Day 2, Sunday, August 1 - Luxor
    Today you have a free day to relax by the pool, do some shopping, recover from any jet lag, and prepare for tomorrow's eclipse.
  • Day 3, Monday, August 2 - Luxor
    Today is the Eclipse. Travel by air-conditioned bus to our pre-arranged location for your optimal viewing and set up any equipment you brought with you to view the eclipse. Museum Tours will provide chairs, shade canopy, and cold bottled water throughout the day as well as continual shuttle service to the hotel.  We will also have our guides and tour managers onsite today to help keep our eyes on your belongings.
  • Day 4, Tuesday, August 3 - Luxor/Cairo/Home
    Very early this morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo and then Home.
